Kilimo Fresh combines both Cold Storage Technology and Mobile Technology to increase income to smallholder farmers in Tanzania, by aggregating fresh produce, then process and distribute to the local market therefore creating a sustainable and profitable business model. In addressing the farmers’ problems of post-harvest losses, seasonal scarcity and poor quality of fruits and vegetables, we use modern technology in our operations which adds value to fruits and vegetables while ensuring reliable supply throughout the year. This opens windows for a great potential in import replacement and exportation by capturing the market of major customers. Who would normally import fruits and vegetables as a result of the poor farming techniques in most Tanzania communities.
