Primary Metals production is incredibly wasteful. The aluminum industry alone generates 120M tons of waste a year, with over 30B tons stockpiled in ponds around the world. Phoenix Tailings is building technology that extracts valuable materials from this waste, utilizing existing resources to create new sources of primary metals. The technology is engineered to be free of added carbon emissions and utilize the entirety of the waste stream, leaving nothing behind. Due to the technical ingenuity of the solution, it allows metals to be produced using a fraction of the power that current technologies use. We estimate that this will reduce carbon emissions by 0.5
1.5 gigatons over the next 15 years.
