The HETAVED Aquaculture and Aquaponics system is an innovation for empowering small holders fish farmers and vegetable and fruits farmers to produce fishes as protein and at the same time use hydroponics/aquaponics technology to cultivate and produce stable foods, vegetable and fruits at the same spot. Our system operates on total conversion of all wastes to feed fishes and produce crops without artificial or non organic fertilizers or chemical usage.
First, the high cost of procuring fish feeds that is a major hindrances to profitable aquaculture is overcome through the use of organic wastes fortified with vitamins, minerals and other nutrients to produce quality fish feeds. This now empowers small holders and commercial fish farmers to venture into profitable aquaculture for protein supply to the masses.
Secondly, through hydroponics and aquaponics technology, the wastes water from fish farming is now used as liquid fertilizers to produce healthy stable food crops, vegetables and fruits to provide quality balanced diets for all. In this way and through this process, enough and quality food, protein, jobs and income are generated without any harm to nature and the environment.
