Mi Valedor is Mexico´s first street paper, promoting social reintegration and providing an income for members of marginalized groups such as immigrants, refugees and people living in poverty. The project offers them sales training and a first free batch of magazines in order to get them back on their feet, as well as constant accompaniment and workshops to recover the social skills and self confidence that are often deteriorated due to their context. This way, sellers are encouraged to re-establish their autonomy, progressing as micro-entrepreneurs who can earn a legitimate income on their own terms
since the model arises from the experience that individuals are capable of making their own decisions and are more likely to recover stability when responsible for their own progress.. Once they start earning from their sales, they pay a low price for each magazine, which they then sell at its real cost.
