Animals, especially sea creatures such as turtles and fish, are severely affected by the plastic that is discarded into the environment. They often mistake plastic items including straws for food, and ingesting such items eventually leads to death.
Replacing single use plastic straws with environmentally friendly alternatives must be made a priority to save our planet.
